It's Labor Day weekend here in Italy (the official date is May 1st) and beach season has officially started.
During the season, like many Milanese, my family can be found anywhere in Liguria (Santa Margherita, Paraggi and Portofino) or in Forte Dei Marmi (Forte) in Tuscany. This weekend we're in Forte having an easy, breezy time at Mare Chiaro beach club. Here are some pics that I snapped earlier today.
The beach town life is pretty amazing in Italy. Days are spent zipping around on bicycles fitted with wicker baskets, lounging under gorgeous cabanas, lunching on delicious seafood, walking along the beach with friends, fun dinners in the center of town, and lovely post-dinner walks. For sure another element of the Italian "bella vita."

Today I ...
★ Paired my Ek Thongprasert necklace with my Cacharel + Liberty button down and MiH "Halsy" jeans.
★ Indulged in a delicious kale juice at the Park Hyatt. Just ask for the "Jet Lagged".
★ Chirped at these precious burp cloths at Jacadi while picking up a present for a friend.

Baseball caps and Serendeepity

So this week has been an all around bad hair week. I skipped a seriously needed grooming session last weekend to hang out with my family and veg out. But come Monday morning, I had to deal with my rebellious pixie cut. I immediately thought of a solution: one of my husband's US Open baseball caps. I really wanted to embrace the sporty/baseball cap trend that I posted about last month. So I headed straight to his coat closet and was hit with the realization that his entire collection (two caps) was missing. Urgh! Catastrophe!
Quick fix! I grabbed my Sebastian molding mud and tried spiking my hair, but I looked like a tree, especially in my Acne green sweater. I then resorted to brushing it into submission. A few spikes poking out here and there, I headed to the office.
And like striking gold, the next day while shooting a project for work, my team and I found ourselves in Serendeepity where I picked out this ethnic inspired baseball cap. Serendeepity, a brilliant concept store on Corso di Porta Ticinese, carries a selection of vinyl records, vintage clothing and accessories, modern antiques and a small selection of contemporary designers. My beautiful baseball cap is by Miko Spinelli, a London based music and fashion artist. Here are a couple pics I snapped while browsing the shop. Enjoy your weekend!

Sunday morning reading

Lol, I just found myself skimming between my favorite blog reads, D della Repubblica and my son's homework that I missed during fashion month. Such a peaceful morning in comparison to these hectic past few weeks. The birds are chirping outside my window, my husband is reading his various newspapers and my son is running from room to room with different books and toys.
