Elisa "Eli" Nalin, Feb. 29, 2012
Always a burst of sunshine, Eli, also one of Grazia.it's "It Girls", in an amazing jungle print dress by Dries Van Noten. Her indigo smoking style blazer and violet hued sandals gorgeously complete the look, and her amber and black clutch adds the perfect pop of contrast.

Featured in British Vogue's "Beat on the Street"
Hi Everyone! I'm so excited to show you my feature in British Vogue's April issue. It was such a fun shoot! The super stylish and hilarious stylist Pippa Holt helped me mix pieces from my own closet with the most divine Spring Summer 2012 looks. Bottega Veneta, Jil Sander, Valentino and Dries Van Noten, I was in heaven! The very sweet and gentle Thais Bretas made me look naturally pretty. The brilliantly talented photographer Martine Houghton made me feel confident and like a super model. My dear friend Annina made us the most delicious lunch ever. It really felt like a lovely afternoon spent with old friends. Thanks to the super chic Emily Sheffield for her beautiful words. And a very very special thanks to the most adored Francesca Burns.

Susie Bubble's style intuition
It's no secret that Susie Lau, the brilliant blogger behind Style Bubble, has incredible fashion intuition. But I was never-the-less impressed by her choice of outfits for the second day of PFW, the day on which the Dries Van Noten runway show takes place. The established style icon combined a Dries SS12 skirt with a vintage kimono. Mr. Van Noten showed a gorgeously sophisticated collection that looked to the east for inspiration. A lovely fashion coincidence on the part of Susie and the type of inspiring fashion moment that I love.

Shiona Turini, Wednesday's Inspiration
This morning while at breakfast, I couldn't take my mind of these two images of Shiona. Maybe it's because I wore the Dries Van Noten trouser version of the skirt she is wearing in the first pic to dinner last night; or, may be I'm inspired by all the yellows, greens and reds that I'm seeing here on St. Barths. Not only on a Wednesday, but also on Monday, Tuesday, and every other day of the week, she's a huge inspiration of mine. Always smiling, funny as hell (have you followed her on twitter, hilarious), she's incredibly well put together.

Miao Miao, quirky style inspiration
I love Miao Miao's quirky style. There's always that one detail that side winks at you (come on, you know the one when you tilt your head to the side and bat those ashes). This time it's her lace-up/snake-print clog/wedges. Most of us would have probably worn a ballerina, a pair of kitten heels, a platform sandal, court shoes, or maybe even a lace-up, pointed bootie. But it's precisely these unpredictable choices that make shooting and observing street style so interesting. BTW, what would you have worn with Miao Miao's look?

Isabel Costa's gorgeous look reminds of the military greens and lovely florals that came down the Dries Van Noten Fall 2010 catwalk. This look is perfect for me- I am currently living in a similar blazer by Theory. And, maybe I'll try the look out with my favorite military-green trousers or my new Giuseppe Zanotti military-inspired, peep-toe boots (Triple S: sample sale score).

Dye Job

Hanne is stunning in ethnic Dries Van Noten. When I saw her, I was immediately transported to a faraway print paradise.

Paris Fashion Week • Dries Van Noten

This is my first season shooting street style during Paris Ready-to-Wear, and to my great fortune I was invited to attend the Dries Van Noten show. Staged in what seemed like the grand ballroom of a breath taking historic building, the collection recounted a march in time: the show started with the sound of the heavy and solemn foot steps of the models as they made their way down the wood floors that served as the catwalk- there definitely seemed to be a reference to a military event of some kind. What unfolded next was a mix of the wonderful pieces that Mr. Van Noten is known for: stunning prints, beautifully embellished pieces, lovely trousers, and skirts in full and slim versions. And then, the designer knowingly, confidently and with the clarity of someone who is familiar with the pieces in their wardrobe, introduced current trends into the march. There were cropped leopard jackets and scarves, military inspired trousers- in wide leg and tapered, parachute-inspired versions, dresses and blazers in metallic fabrics, and tops that were reminiscent of sweatshirts. It was a beautiful collection that will translate well on the street.
