Crystals and Flames

I've been dreaming of the Prada SS12 collection since Wednesday when my son dragged me into the boutique after seeing the cars in their windows. It's the only time that he's ever wanted to go into a "mommy" store, and we definitely were like two kids in a candy shop. Bumpers, head lights, tail lights, sangallo lace, crystal and flames.  I couldn't have asked for a more fun fashion moment with my mini-me.

I love the movement of InStyle UK's Natalie Hartley's Rag and Bone tuxedo-style trousers, so fluid. Also, love the eyelet detailing on her United Nude platforms booties. The whole look was made for walking.

Leaf Greener, Sporty Chic

Leaf has the sporty-chic look down pat. I love how she interpreted the trend in Paris last October (top and bottom images) and how she wore it in Milan this past February (middle image). I also love that she builds the look around specific style essentials: her Miu Miu baseball cap, sunnies and tennis-inspired skirt. Even though the individual pieces are different in mood, e.g., boxy vs fitted sweater, embellished jacket + graphic sweater combo vs minimal grey sweater, she hits a home run on both occasions.

Adrenaline Power Combo

One of the best combos during Paris fashion week. I'm crazy about the color palette; the way that the net sleeve brings out the barely visible grilled background on the camouflage parka; and the way the monochromatic waves and profile of the Christopher Kane liquid clutch blends the whole look together. When you see a look like this approaching from a far, you get a major adrenaline rush.

Sarah Rutson, Monday's Inspiration

Sarah rules. I love the way she styles this look. It is my idea of perfection. A clever interpretation of tuxedo dressing, deconstructed and put back together with her personal touch. Every single detail is brilliant: the Celine jacquard skirt maintains a classic elegant rigour; the cropped sweater an edgy alternative to the classic smoking jacket; the exposed bib of the tuxedo shirt refinely centers the look; and her Valentino's Va Va Voom and pointy stilettos are today's classic accessories.
